Ingredients:

Dough:

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1⁄4 cup warm water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 1⁄2 cups flour
  • 1 cup milk, scalded (heated to just below its boiling point — usually around 180ºF)
  • Filling:

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1⁄3 cup sugar
  • 1⁄4 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 peach, chopped
  • 1⁄3 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp. milk
  • Almond flavoring

    Directions:

    Dissolve yeast and sugar in ¼ cup warm water. Combine egg, butter, salt and 3 cups flour with cooled, scalded milk. Mix well. Add remaining flour slowly until dough can be handled. Dough will be sticky. Knead about 5 min. Place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise until almost doubled in size. Shape into rolls by rolling dough in rectangle. Spread filling ingredients down middle 1⁄3 of dough, roll up and slice. (May be made in other shapes or a loaf.) Let rise until almost doubled. Bake in preheated 350ºF oven 15-20 min. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls.
