Oklahoma wheat harvest progressed slightly over the weekend, with a few producers in southwest and central Oklahoma managing to cut small amounts of grain. Delays continued due to high humidity and muddy field conditions from off-and-on rain throughout the week. Many producers are hoping to resume harvesting this afternoon.
General summary:
- Test weights across all locations ranged from 58 to 64 lbs./bushel, with most wheat still coming in at 60 lbs. or higher.
- Yields generally reported in the mid-30s to mid-40s, with intensively managed fields yielding in the mid-50s to mid-60s.
- Protein levels on early cuttings ranged from 10.8% to 11.5%, with most locations reporting an 11% average.
